Salesforce WhatsApp Integration: Two-Way Record Sync for Leads, Contacts & Opportunities
GrowOnBot's Salesforce integration sends WhatsApp template messages when Contact, Account, Opportunity or Lead records are created or updated in Salesforce, and keeps records in sync in both directions. This guide explains exactly what is supported.
Why Use WhatsApp Business API with Salesforce?
Salesforce holds your leads, contacts, accounts and opportunities. WhatsApp is where many customers in India and the UAE prefer to hear from you. Linking the two means a CRM event can start a WhatsApp message without a rep copying numbers and typing it by hand, and your records stay aligned with the people you chat with on WhatsApp.
Outbound Triggers Across Four Salesforce Objects
- Leads: a lead created or updated can send a WhatsApp template message, for example a welcome message to a new lead.
- Contacts: a contact created or updated can send a WhatsApp template message.
- Accounts: an account created or updated can send a WhatsApp template message.
- Opportunities: an opportunity created or updated can send a WhatsApp template message.
Two-way record sync
A user created or updated in GrowOnBot creates or updates a lead or contact in Salesforce, and a lead or contact created or updated in Salesforce creates or updates a user in GrowOnBot.
What is not synced: this is record sync. Chat transcripts and message histories do not appear in Salesforce.
Cost: 0% Markup on Meta's Message Rates
GrowOnBot adds 0% markup to Meta's per-message rates. You pay a flat plan fee plus Meta's rate at cost, billed in INR, AED or USD. See the pricing page for current plans.
UAE note: customers billed in AED pay a ~4% currency conversion fee on message charges.
Compliance, Opt-In & Template Rules
- Messages a business starts must use a Meta-approved template. Free-form replies are possible within Meta's 24-hour customer service window. See our template rules and examples.
- Only message contacts who have opted in to hear from you on WhatsApp. See our opt-in guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Salesforce objects can trigger a WhatsApp message in GrowOnBot?
When a Contact, Account, Opportunity or Lead record is created or updated in Salesforce, GrowOnBot can send a WhatsApp template message.
Does the sync work in both directions?
Yes, for records. A user created or updated in GrowOnBot creates or updates a lead or contact in Salesforce, and the reverse. Contact and lead records sync in both directions.
Do WhatsApp chat messages appear inside Salesforce?
No. The sync covers contact and lead records only. Chat transcripts and message histories are not synced into Salesforce, so conversations stay in GrowOnBot.
Can we send free-form text, or only approved templates?
Messages triggered by a Salesforce event are business-initiated, so they use Meta-approved WhatsApp templates. Free-form replies are only possible within Meta's 24-hour customer service window after the customer last messaged you.
Does GrowOnBot add a markup to WhatsApp message charges?
No. GrowOnBot charges 0% markup on Meta's per-message rates: you pay a plan fee plus Meta's rate at cost, billed in INR, AED or USD. UAE customers billed in AED pay a ~4% currency conversion fee on message charges.
